MORE than 40 firefighters were called out to a massive blaze near Buckland on Monday night.
Emergency services were called out to the scene at around 8.35pm which saw agricultural outbuildings ablaze on the road from the junction of Lower Icknield Way and Buckland Road, near Buckland Village.
Firefighters also had to protect nearby properties with hoses, as embers from the fire were landing on the homes’ thatched roofs.
The wooden outbuildings at the scene, which are thought to have caught fire accidentally, are believed to have contained tractors, agricultural machinery and a car.
The fire service succeeded in removing all the items from within the building, but one of the structures was left 90 per cent damaged by the blaze.
